Philly Local Philes: Bridge Underwater’s “Send Me All Your Love”
Talk about strength in (relatively few) numbers. Philly’s maximally minimal Bridge Underwater makes a joyful Apples In Stereo-esque noise, big stuff for a band that’s a duo most of the time. We can hear bass on the recordings, and sometimes there’s a bassist onstage—but generally, Bridge Underwater is Pat Mellon on guitar and John Baslie on drums, operating with tremendous economy of arrangement and sound. Check out their poppy indie anthem “Send Me All Your Love” below; you can hear the entire EP, as well as some older recordings, over at their Bandcamp page.
