Philly Local Philes: Dave Hause’s “Prague (Revive Me)”

Dave HauseThe contemplative troubadour approach to punk suits Dave Hause well. His music in The Loved Ones has always had a thematic undercurrent of standing strong in a beaten-down world. Absent the big amps and distortion pedals—which is how we hear him on his solo debut, Resolutions—those concerns come to the forefront. Later this month, Hause brings his one-man show to the First Unitarian Church side chapel for a double-header appearance with fellow punks-gone-folk, Mikey Erg of The Ergs and Ian Graham of Cheap Girls. The 6 p.m. set is sold out; tickets still remain for the 9 p.m. set. A couple weeks back, Hause gave us a taste of how he’ll sound by recording an acoustic session (with his sister Missy accompanying him on piano). You can hear the performance and interview in full this Sunday, April 17, on Jake Rabid’s Philly Local Show on Y-Rock. In today’s Philly Phile, we spotlight a highlight from the session—a stirring rendition of “Prague (Revive Me).”
