Philly Local Philes: Catnaps’ “Why Don’t You Whisper?”

By

Their summer tour took them to the west coast and back, playing at coffee shops, in living rooms and for one Nervous Energies Session in Southern California. Now that they’re snugly ensconced back in their home town, Catnaps is set to play Phila MOCA and show off a set of music from their full-length, debut Why Don’t You Whisper (released on the eve of their departure in late June). Today’s Philly Local Phile digs into the synthesizer-happy title cut that’s vaguely reminiscent of another indiepop band with feline fixations: The Cat’s Miaow. Catnaps plays PhilaMOCA on Friday, Sept. 2, at 8 p.m. with Netherfriends and Burberry Possums. Tickets to the all-ages show are $8.

Saw them with The Front Bottoms last night (2/19) and they were solid. Definite like.
