Philly Local Philes: Arrah And The Ferns’ “Wake Up”

On their latest single, “Wake Up,” the members of Philly’s Arrah And The Ferns let down their guard and embrace a sound they’ve long hinted at a fondness for: country music. The jangly guitar lines and gang-vocal chorus sound like they’re bouncing off the lofty ceiling of Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium (in the best possible way). The song comes from Soldier Ghost, the new EP the Ferns are releasing tomorrow at a Phila MOCA appearance with Univox and Conversations with Enemies.
