Having formed only 10 months ago, Philly goth-punks Psychic Teens are celebrating their first Halloween season as a band this month—and they’re doing it in style. Hot off an appearance opening for Zola Jesus at the First Unitarian Church, the threesome is playing a Mischief Night show at Teri’s Diner and Bar in tribute to one of their ’90s favorites: Nine Inch Nails. The setlist is drawing only from the first three albums (and yes, they count Broken as an album), so leave your requests for obscurities from Ghosts I-IV at home and thrash out to raw, aggressive takes on alt-industrial classics like “Mr. Self Destruct.” You’ll also hear that song covered tomorrow night when the band appears on The Key Studio Sessions Hour on XPN2. The cover show was supposed to be a celebration of the band’s debut release, Teen, but the vinyl pressing was delayed—so look for a release party later on this autumn. In the meantime, get a preview of the album’s highlights, soaked in eerie reverb, in today’s Key Studio Session.
