Having celebrated the official release of their sophomore album, Better Luck Next Life, with a show last night in their new hometown of Brooklyn, the members of Royal Baths come to Philadelphia tonight for the first show in a nearly month-long tour. Royal Baths’ brooding, Velvet Underground-influenced garage/psych-rock should pair nicely with local openers Far-Out Fangtooth—a similarly gloomy garage-goth act whose debut LP, Pure And Disinterested, we highlighted last year (and who has a new 7-inch set for release in a few months). Royal Baths performs with Far-Out Fangtooth and Lantern (DJ set) at 8 p.m. at Kung Fu Necktie; tickets to the 21+ show are $5.
Also Playing: Bob Mould at World Cafe Live (7:30 p.m., all ages, $22); A$AP Rocky + Grande Marshall at Theatre Of Living Arts (8 p.m., all ages, $27); Pete Donnelly + Pawnshop Roses, Gift Horse at Milkboy Philly (9 p.m., 21+, $10)
