MilkBoy is turning four! To celebrate the anniversary of the burgeoning center city venue, it’s doing what it does every August – throwing a weekend-long party with free concerts by local and regional artists. The 21+ shindig goes down from August 13th to the 15th, and you can get details on what’s in store below.

Night One

Funky improv Philly favorites Flightschool are headlining night one, with Nashville rock/soul/hip-hop outfit The Lonely Biscuits and Bensalem-native indie rockers The Burgeoning filling out the bill. Flightschool has just a debut EP to their name, but their funk rock has quickly risen them up the ranks of must-see local bands. You can catch them for free at MilkBoy next Thursday; here’s the band covering Miike Snow’s “Animal.”

Night Two

Nic Greeley brings his solo act to night two of the anniversary show, with his support band The Operators in tow. Also on the bill for the night are the New Sound Brass Band, weird/fun pop by Shorty boy-boy, and some down and dirty blues from The Crooks. Greeley just released his debut solo EP, Town Gypsy. Considered the best frontman in Philly by some, Greeley alone is reason enough to come check out Friday night’s festivities. Hear his debut EP below.

Night Three

Closing out the weekend of debauchery is TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb. The Philly post apocalyptic blues rockers are joined by Dirty Dollhouse, Levee Drivers and Emmett Drueding, all local favorites. Basically, if you enjoy local Philly music, then this night whole weekend is the one for you. Check out TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb’s EP Kong below. More information on all three shows can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
