Boardwalk Empire‘s Aleksa Palladino and her husband Devon Church formed Exitmusic after the two met in New York and started writing songs together. The duo self-released their first collection of songs, The Decline Of The West, in 2008 and married a year later. As a four piece, the band includes drummer Dru Prentiss and electronic musician Nicholas Shelestak. Since being cast in Martin Scorcese’s HBO series as Angela Darmody, Palladino and Church have been living in Brooklyn. Last October the band released an EP, From Silence. On May 22nd the band releases its debut full-length album, The Passage, on Secretly Canadian Records. In January Exitmusic recorded a session for XPN2 with Eric Schuman, which you can listen to here. Below, download “The Sea,” watch the video they recently recorded for Out Of Town Films, and listen to “Passage” from Exitmusic’s forthcoming album.
