“We make music. This is what we do.” That is the statement on White Denim’s website. The band members, however, are underselling the complexity of what they do just a bit. White Denim is essentially a jam band for people who won’t admit that they like jam bands.  They combine genres in ways that seem unlikely at first, and they rock out to those fused (but rarely confused) tracks for epic extended performances on stage. The Austin, TX-based quartet recently wrapped up a tour with headliners Wilco, and most reviews lamented the fact that the opening act was confined to a 30-minute set. These fans and critics will likely be glad to know that White Denim is currently headlining a fast-paced, all-over-the-place international tour, with stops from Canada to Brazil, Michigan to Belgium. The tour suits the band’s eclectic sound and the reckless, wild way that they make music. White Denim performs with Hundred Visions and Brazos at 9 p.m. at Johnny Brenda’s; tickets to the 21+ show are $12. —Naomi Shavin
