Tomorrow night marks the beginning of the inaugural WXPN Music Film Festival, which is produced by the Philadelphia Film Society and will feature over 20 music films. The festival goes through Sunday, April 29th. Most screenings will be at the Annenberg Center in West Philadelphia on the University of Pennsylvania campus. Tomorrow evening at 8 p.m. at Annenberg’s Zellerbach Theatre, the festival’s opening-night film is Big Easy Express. The film documents the journey of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Mumford & Sons as they set out by train from Oakland to New Orleans for their 2011 tour. Immediately after the screening there will be a party for all-access badge holders at the Great Hall at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law with music from the Hot Club of Philadelphia. Other special events over the weekend including the Girl Walk//All Day screening and dance party (sponsored by Philebrity) on Friday evening at World Cafe Live and a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the TLA on Saturday at midnight.
