Philly pop group Rob, Lately is a snappy five-piece with energetic hooks and peppy melodies. Founded by brothers Rob and Ryan Malloy in Freeland, PA back in 2008, the band migrated to Philly, lost a few members, gained a few more, and released a series of recordings to Bandcamp. Its most recent offering, Haunts, is ridiculously catchy, recalling the power pop riffs of Cheap Trick and early Squeeze, while echoing contemporaries like Jukebox The Ghost and Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. Give a listen to Haunts below, and catch the band tonight at Silk City. Rob Lately performs with Levee Drivers, Chelsea Mitchell, Corporate Hearts and Mat Burke tonight at 8 p.m. at Silk City, 435 Spring Garden St. The show is 21+, tickets available at the door.
