Tonight’s Concert Picks: Catnaps at The Fire, Lindsey Stirling at World Cafe Live, Laetitia Sadier at Johnny Brenda’s

Taking a cue from surf pop bands like Best Coast and Beach House, Philly four-piece Catnaps has been enjoying local success since the release of their 2011 album Why Don’t You Whisper?, which was followed up with an EP titled Boys Drool in February. Catnaps, who previously went by the name When I Was 12, performed a Key Studio Session in June 2011. Their show tonight at The Fire begins at 8 PM and is an all ages event. Fresh off the release of her debut album last week, dubstep-violinist Lindsey Stirling is playing a sold-out show at World Cafe Live tonight. Her self-titled album features her hit single “Crystallize” as well as other original work. French singer Laetitia Sadier will be appearing tonight at Johnny Brenda’s. Her latest record, Silencio, was released in June to praise for its single “Find Me the Pulse of the Universe.” Sadier was formerly part of the Kraut-lounge group Stereolab before the band split up in 2009.  The 21+ show begins at 8 and tickets start at $12; further information can be found here. Watch her brand new video for “Find Me the Pulse of the Universe” below.
