Tonight’s Concert Picks: Gillian Grassie at World Cafe Live, Goodnight Lights at the Balcony Bar, Jason Anderson at Kung Fu Necktie, Project Object at the Blockley

Indie singer and harpist Gillian Grassie is playing tonight at World Cafe Live with Danielle Ate the Sandwich. Grassie, who performed as part of XPN’s 12 Days of Local Christmas last December, has been touring around the world since the 2007 release of her first full length album, Serpentine. Philly indie group Goodnight Lights is playing the Balcony Barat the Trocadero tonight at 8. Goodnight Lights released their latest full-length album As Far As The Moon in June. This show is 21+; more information about the show can be found here. Below, listen to the title track from As Far As The Moon.
Brooklyn singer/songwriter Jason Anderson is playing at Kung Fu Necktie this evening. The appearance is in support of the March release of his EP The Mark. This show is 21+, begins at 8 p.m. and is $5; more details here. Watch Anderson lead a sing-along to his song “Queen” in the video below.

Frank Zappa tribute band Project Object featuring Ike Willis and Ray White is playing at the Blockley tonight. Willis, the lead vocalist on most of Zappa’s albums between ’78 and ’88, is on both vocals and guitar for this performance. White, who also toured with Zappa, joined Project Object in 2009 and is also featured as a vocalist and guitarist. The show tonight is 21+; doors open at 7:30. You can find more information here.
