It’s Nicos Gun solo project day on Soundcloud! New tracks from Nick Bockrath, Barney Cortez
The timing was too good on this one. Just as I was getting ready to post about “Cannibals,” a dramatic disco-fied new demo that Nick Bockrath of Philly dance rockers Nicos Gun posted to his newish Soundcloud page, I took a quick look at my Google Reader. Turns out our friends at The Deli also posted about a Nicos solo project in their end of the blog world – except they dug up cuts from Bockrath’s co-frontman and occasional comedic foil, Barney Cortez. While the former’s solo tracks seem to put a more urgent, emotive spin on the Nicos party-disco-funk-tronica stylings, Cortez digs into Bowie-style glam, psychedelic pop and goth on his Soundcloud.
