Tonight’s Concert Picks: John Byrne at North Star Bar, Little Feat at Musikfest Cafe

Dublin native / Philadelphia transplant John Byrne will take part in the North Star Bar‘s Victorian Dining Room Series tonight. Byrne was formally the front-man for Irish folk band Patrick’s Head. Following the release of his debut solo record After the Wake in 2010, the singer-songwriter sold out World Cafe Live multiple times and opened for a number of well-known acts including Enter the Haggis and The Hothouse Flowers. American rock band Little Feat come to the Philadelphia area tonight for a show at Musikfest Cafe. Formed in 1969, Little Feat have a built a strong legacy over their decades-long career, blending many traditional styles of American music (including bluegrass, southern folk and rock ‘n’ roll) to make a sound dubbed “as American as apple pie.” Tonight’s show in Bethlehem follows the band’s 2012 release Rooster Rag, their fifteenth studio album.
