U.S. Girls releases a live music video for “I Don’t Have a Mind of My Own” (playing PhilaMOCA on 2/15)

As of Friday, U.S. Girls hit the road for a month-long US tour. The (ironically) Canadian solo girl behind the project is Meghan Remy, but she’ll be touring with her band, which includes Toronto-based guitarist Slim Twig. Remy, Slim Twig and the rest of the touring band can be seen in a video that the group released this week for the song “I Don’t Have a Mind of My Own” from U.S. Girls’ 2010 LP Go Grey. The video (which you can watch below) features Remy’s visual art and showcases her ability to croon, a talent that is often downplayed or sacrificed entirely for the project’s riot grrrl-inspired recorded aesthetic. To hear Meghan Remy live, head to PhilaMOCA on February 15th. Tickets and information for the all ages show are available here.
