Download “Tango With Lucy” from Penrose’s new LP Circe (playing Underground Arts on 3/2)

Don’t let those cheery faces fool you. There’s an odd nihilistic streak in the Murphy brothers of Philly blues rock trio Penrose. Their new album, Circe, is dark and heavy, dealing in mythological demons and shadowy rivers to Hell. And today, for Valentine’s Day – that romantic observance of love and fidelity and so forth and so on – the guys released a download of “Tango With Lucy,” a song from the album about a meeting with the Devil. Listen to it below, get the pay-what-you-wish download at Bandcamp, and look for more on Circe when we spotlight it in an Unlocked feature the week of the band’s release party at Underground Arts.
