Just Announced: Young Man playing North Star Bar on 4/11
FILED UNDER: Artists, Concert Previews, Events, News, North Star Bar, Young Man
After graduating from college, Chicago multi-instrumentalist Colin Caulfield, aka Young Man, set out on an ambitious journey to record a trilogy of LPs in eighteen months. Late 2011 welcomed the first installment with Ideas of Distance, 2012 saw the follow-up Vol. 1 and in April the singer-songwriter will release the final piece Beyond Was All Around Me on Frenchkiss. The first sample from the upcoming release, “In a Sense,” shows a more complex side to Caulfield production-wise and while the lyrics are still contemplative and introspective, it’s clear he has come a long way from the early lo-fi, bedroom-recording days of his career (before Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox discovered him). Tickets and information for the 21+ show at North Star Bar on April 11th will go on sale Friday, March 1st; more information will be available here. Stream “In a Sense” from the upcoming LP below.
