Get to know Ryan Hemsworth (playing at Underground Arts tomorrow night with Daedelus, Salva and Samo Sound Boy)

Tomorrow night at Undergound Arts there’s an excellent lineup of DJ’s and electronica musicians worth seeing for a glimpse into some of the best musicians working in the electronic dance scene; each one bringing their own unique influences to the mix. The evening features headliner Daedelus with support from Salva, Samo Sound Boy and Ryan Hemsworth.

DJ and producer Hemsworth is from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has received a lot of music blog love and positive critical attention lately not only for his own work, but for his remixes of songs by Grimes, Frank Ocean and Drake. What’s notable about his work is his use of genres like hip-hop and R&B to inform the moodiness and emotion of the music he creates. His recent album, Last Words, released on WeDidIt, features “Colour & Movement” that you can watch below. Hemsworth is definitely worth keeping an eye (and ear) on. WIth each new release and remix, he’s adding to the conversation of electronic music in leaps and bounds. Sample some of his work below.
