My Morning Download: “Hope Of A Lifetime” by The Milk Carton Kids (playing World Cafe Live on April 22nd)

milkcartonkids With two excellent albums that they’ve given away for free, and a growing loyal fan base around the country, the singer-songwriter duo The Milk Carton Kids release their debut on Anti- Records called The Ash & Clay on March 26th. From Los Angeles, The Milk Carton Kids are Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan. They formed in 2011 and simply put, they play gorgeous acoustic music very much in the tradition of Simon & Garfunkel. Their harmonies are magical, and their guitar playing is intricate and beautiful. The songs on their new album continue to wonderfully showcase their story telling and songwriting skills. The band perform at World Cafe Live on Monday, April 22nd.
