Topher Mohr grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he was a part of soul music scene that also included his longtime friend Mayer Hawthorne. In fact, Mohr is a member of Hawthorne’s band The County and has spent the last few years touring with him. An accomplished solo artist himself, Mohr adds his own vocabulary to the funk and soul musical lexicon, adding a strong pop twist to the music on his terrific new album called Phlotilla on DTI Music.
