XPN’s Gotta Hear Song of The Week – “Your Head and Your Heart” by The Saint Johns

This week the Nashville based duo of The Saint Johns get the honor of having XPN’s Gotta Hear Song of the Week for “Your Head and Your Heart.” In fact, the duo of Louis Johnson and Jordan Meredith have an entire four song EP that you can download for free here or here.

The Saint Johns started in 2009 when Meredith and Johnson met and became Augustine, named for the city where they are from in Florida. The two settled in NYC and toured throughout the Northeast before heading down to Nashville and regrouping as The Saint Johns.

“Your Head and Your Heart” is an intimate, gorgeous song that grabs your attention with the eloquent harmonies of Johnson and Meredith, melodic pull of the song and the yearning cello that underscores the beautiful acoustics of the song. The journey begins slow and builds with emotional intensity until it settles back down with heartfelt resignation.
