Kurt Vile and his daughter star in this freaking adorable video / commercial / whatever for “Never Run Away” (playing Union Transfer in May)
FILED UNDER: Artists, Concert Previews, Events, News, Kurt Vile, Union Transfer
We’re a bit suspect of the recent commercial-in-lieu-of-music-video trend, but this is freaking adorable. Kurt Vile sits in a home study / listening room, pops his new LP Wakin’ on a Pretty Daze on the turntable, and as he listens to “Never Run Away” (and mimes the chord changes on an air guitar) his daughter dances onscreen, wearing fake lips and a zebra mask. So heartwarming, funny and all-around awesome…even if it’s, as Kurt suggests, not “a real commercial.” Er, music video. Check it out below, download the song here and catch Vile with Steve Gunn and Angel Olsen at Union Transfer on May 18th. Tickets and information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar (powered by The Swollen Fox).
