Philly music renaissance man Khari Mateen channels his inner D’Angelo in this new single and video, “Doing Things.” Clad only in his briefs, Mateen walks against a white background and flips through a stack of vintage 70s LPs while singing along to the effervescent funk slinking around in the background. Whether or not the LPs were source material for the music (or merely inspiration – I can definitely see the latter) remains unclear, but dang it’s an addictive song with an alluring video – especially so once the dancers show up.
