We can’t let go of Daniel Bachman, even though the young guitarist moved away from Philly half a year ago. Luckily he’s always got something new for us to dig into in his absence, like this week’s cassette / download collaboration with Colorado’s Matthew Sage, improvised and recorded live for Patient Sounds. The cassette is sold out but you can listen to excerpts of the session below and download it here.
Slingshot Dakota recorded this week’s Key Studio Session, highlighting tracks from their 2012 full-length Dark Hearts. Though the themes of the record are often heavy and difficult, Slingshot Dakota puts a positive spin on the lyrics with bright guitar riffs and upbeat drums. Stream and download “Intro / Mayday” below and check out the full session here.
Alabama’s Duquette Johnston has a free download of “Rabbit Runs A Destiny” available, off of his new album of the same name. The singer-songwriter was chosen as this week’s World Cafe: Next artist; listen back to the segment hosted by David Dye here and download the track below.
Folkadelphia was very excited to welcome Tim Kasher to WXPN for a live session this week. The Good Life / Cursive frontman is currently traveling on a solo acoustic tour and will be heading in to the studio shortly to begin work on a new record. Stream and download “Bad, Bad Dreams” below and check out the full session on Folkadelphia’s Bandcamp here.
