Tonight’s Concert Picks: James Blake at TLA, Todd Rundgren at Trocadero, Geoff Rickly at North Star Bar

james-blake-500Electronic singer/songwriter James Blake stops by the Theatre of Living Arts tonight. In April, Blake released his sophmore album Overgrown. The new album brings back Blake’s beautiful voice and rhythmic electronics. Tickets and information for the all ages show can be found here. Singer/songwriter and producer Todd Rundgren plays the Trocodero tonight. Rundgren has helped produce songs for artists such as Meat Loaf and The Band, and this year, he celebrates his new album State an electronic collection which according to allmusic.com is his “20th proper solo album”. Frontman Geoff Rickly of New Jesery’s emo/hardcore/rock influenced Thursday will be coming to North Star Bar tonight. While primarily famed for Thursday, Rickly is also apart of the experimental/punk band United Nations, joined by members of other well known bands such as Converge, Glassjaw and Head Automatica.
