Elvis Costello, The Roots team up for new Wise up Ghost LP

As reported by The Line of Best Fit, legendary English musician Elvis Costello has joined The Legendary Roots Crew for a new collaborative album called Wise up Ghost.  Questlove called the effort “a moody, brooding affair, [with] cathartic rhythms and dissonant lullabies.  I went stark and dark on the music, Elvis went HAM on some ol’ Ezra Pound shit.”

Blue Note will release Wise up Ghost in September.  The Roots will be in town this Saturday, June 1st for their sold-out Picnic with Grimes, Gary Clark Jr, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and more.  Below, watch Costello briefly talk about the album in an interview with Fuse TV.
