Tonight’s Concert Picks: The Uncluded at World Cafe Live, Black Horse Motel at Underground Arts, Alo Brasil at City Hall

Touring behind their debut album Hokey Fright, The Uncluded stop by World Cafe Live tonight.  Quirky folk musician Kimya Dawson (The Moldy Peaches) and indie rapper Aesop Rock teamed up a few years ago to form The Uncluded, recording Fright over the course of a year and releasing it earlier this month on Rhymesayers Entertainment.  Tickets and information for the show with Hamell On Trial can be found here.  Watch their video for “Delicate Cycle” below.

Local Americana outfit Black Horse Motel headline Underground Arts tonight.  The folk troupe released their Red Summer Spirit LP back in March, following a fall 2012 EP and an on-air appearance on Folkadelphia.  With plenty of banjo and lead singer David Richardson’s gravelly vocals, Black Horse Motel’s sound is a comforting blend of The Head & The Heart and The Lumineers.  Tickets and information for tonight’s 21+ show with AlyCat and The Gleaners can be found here.  Stream “Miles for Days” from the new album below.

City Hall Presents‘ summer concert series kicks off this evening with Alo Brasil.  The vibrant eleven-piece Brazilian band will be joined by dancers for the free show in the Courtyard, showcasing the incredible energy and carnivalesque performance style we got a taste of during the troupe’s Key Studio Session a few weeks ago.  The free show begins at 5:30pm; more information be found here.  Below, watch a live performance of Alo Brasil from 2008 and download “Caporeira Medley” from their Key Studio Session.
