best_coastTonight, California rockers Best Coast head to the TLA for what’s sure to be a high energy concert.  The group, who take a page from lo-fi, garage and surf rock released their sophomore album, The Only Place, last year.  Joining them will be the NY band Guards and another California group The Lovely Bad Things.  You can find tickets for the concert here.  Check out the title track to their second album below.

And if you’re on a budget (or you just want to see an amazing local band), check out Cheers Elephant Wednesday evening.  On the heels of their 2012 album, Like Wind Blows Fire, Cheers Elephant are playing a free show at the City Hall Courtyard from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Click here for more information and check out some throwback sounds from the group below.

As a special event this summer, Camden County is having a series of concerts for the next few months featuring a wide range of musicians.  One such musician is Sea Wolf, who stopped by Philly last year for a Free at Noon performance and session on David Dye’s World Cafe.  Tomorrow night, you can catch them for free at McLaughlin-Norcross Dell.  More information about the Sundown Concert Series here and the beautiful single from Sea Wolf’s latest album, Old World Romance below.

And if you’re in more of a rap mood, you can check out Tayyib Ali at The Blockley.  Although he may be young, Tayyib Ali knows how to rap and he’s always representing Philly while he does it.  Along with Boston rapper Mr. Lif and a slew of other DJs and rappers, this star-studded group will keep you grooving all night long.  More information about the 18+ show can be found here.  Below, you’ll find just a sample of one of Philadelphia’s finest.
