Hollywood, Florida’s Beach Day probably feel trapped in the wrong decade. The surf pop trio would feel most at home in 60s, where they could let loose on the beach with Annette Funicello while The Ventures spin a DJ set of the latest Shangri-Las and Beach Boys 45s. Unfortunately for them (but fortunately for us) Beach Day are stuck in present day and have to settle for playing their own brand of 60s escapist pop with undercurrents of punky grunge. “Boys” is off of their debut Trip Trap Attack LP, set for release on June 18th through Kanine Records. Beach Day will be in town at the North Star Bar on June 20th with The Blank Tapes and Song Preservation Society; tickets and information can be found here. Watch the video for “Boys” below.
