This week’s Key Studio Session brought in a long set from The Downtown Club.  Dark and broody, the trio recorded a mix of old and new songs – they’ll be releasing an EP in August.  Stream and download “Victoria” below and get the full six-track set here.

Chill Moody and Apollo the Great released a collaborative track this week called “LayUp Drills.”  With production by Hank McCoy, the song sees the West Philly and Camden natives dropping their lines about big dreams, Nikes and Johnny Depp over swirling string orchestration.  Chill Moody will perform at the July 4th Welcome America festival on the Questlove Stage.

For a limited time you can get Radiator Hospital‘s upcoming LP Something Wild as a name-your-own-price download on the band’s Bandcamp.  The Philly band’s album is chock-full of fast-paced, catchy heartbreak / love songs that take cues from punk, surf-pop and doo-wop.  Stream “Our Song” below and the download here.

Monday’s My Morning Download kicked-off the week with the bluesy roots rock of South Carolina duo Shovels and Rope.  ”Hail Hail” comes from the husband and wife team’s 2012 debut O’ Be Joyful – stream and download the song here.  Shovels and Rope will be at Union Transfer on September 2nd.  Tickets and information can be found here.
