We’ve got some good picks for you today, starting with retro-pop duo She & Him.  Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward just released their fourth LP Volume 3 back in May and it’s just as sweet and sunny as ever.  Just one listen and you’ll be hooked on their upbeat and catchy sound.  Don’t believe me?  Check out their latest single, “Never Wanted Your Love” below and catch them tonight at The Mann Center with Camera Obscura.

But maybe you’re not looking for singer-songwriters tonight.  Maybe you want something heavy and amplified. Well, Heartless Bastards and playing Union Transfer tonight to satisfy all of your rock cravings.  The quartet from Ohio released their latest LP, Arrow, on Valentine’s Day of last year.  Featuring powerful lead vocals from Erika Wennerstrom and a strong backing band, this is a live performance you won’t want to miss.  Check at their song “Got To Have Rock And Roll” below and click here for ticket information

And at Kung Fu Necktie with Poor Young Things, we’ve got Philly’s own Rob, Lately.  Odd names aside, Rob, Lately is a great band, leaning towards punk half the time while trending towards mellow rock (think The Eagles) at other times.  It’s a mystery how they balance these contrasting sounds, but somehow they pull it off with ease.  Check out one of their heavier number below from their latest album and click here for ticket information.
