Eat Your Birthday Cake is dead; long live Marc Neibauer! (download a new single, “Playtime”)

Marc Neibauer formerly made music under the guise of the poppy indie project Eat Your Birthday Cake. But over time, it became less of a band you’d see headlining shows, and more of a means for the jazz-schooled musician and teacher to record and release music. Now, Neibauer is recording under his own name, and just released the new single “Playtime.” Not as playful as the name might suggest, the tune is lush and soothing, with melodic guitar work – good stuff.
