Savages are a post-punk band hailing from London who released their debut album, Silence Yourself, back in May.  Even though they’re fairly new on the music scene, Savages are already gaining a lot of attention and appeared on Jimmy Fallon a few weeks back.  Tonight, the group plays at Union Transfer.  If you’re looking to keep the weekend going into Sunday night, you’ll definitely want to check out this concert tonight.  Click here for ticket info and listen to their song “Shut Up” below.

For a little throw back, A Flock of Seagulls will be playing the Troc tonight.  While some people only remember the group for it’s odd hairdos and fashion style, A Flock of Seagulls were an incredibly innovative band with a decent amount of new wave hit singles.  Although the group hasn’t released a new album since the 90s, they’re still touring and tonight you can catch them live.  Ridiculous hairdos or not, if you’re into new wave this is a show you won’t want to miss.  Click here for ticket information and watch their hit low-budget video for “I Ran” below.

Tonight, local band Tin Bird Choir will play a free show for Upper Merion’s Concerts Under The Stars series.  Tin Bird Choir is an alt-folk band formed by a husband and wife along with a like-minded group of musicians.  Their latest album, Homesteady, features a collection of sweet folk songs finding influence as wide ranging as Fiest and Taj Mahal.  Below you can check out the video for “Sea Change” off their second album.
