Local rapper Dice Raw is the subject of this week’s Key Studio Session. The socially conscious artist has a new record called Jimmy’s Back, a project that looks at race and the U.S. prison system in a catchy and narrative style. Local experimental musician Michael Johnson released four new songs under his Ape School moniker this week. Though presented together under the name Quitting Time, according to the band’s Facebook page the tracks are less of an EP and more of a sample from an upcoming LP. XPN favorite Diego Garcia will release a new record called Paradise on October 8th, his second solo effort following 2011′s Laura. The former Elefant frontman has made lead single “Sunnier Days” available as a free download in exchange for email address and fans of his latin-minded love songs will be pleased with the bright acoustic arrangements of the new song.
