When you hear The City and Horses play, you can’t help to think ‘why haven’t I stumbled on these guys before?’
Fronted by leading man Marc Louis, the band is a beguiling lo-fi folk project featuring two members from Brooklyn and three from Philadelphia. They mix indie pop riffs with chamber / synth influences creating the perfect Belle and Sebastian meets Sufjan Stevens sound. The eclectic, fun-loving group celebrated their junior release Strange Range this past June; you can listen to (and download) it in its entirety via bandcamp here. Want to hear more? Check them out at Kung Fu Necktie on September 26th for their show with Double King; tickets are available at the door. Watch below as The City Of Horses perform “Little Finland” live in The Vault studios.
