Philly alt-electronic five-piece Minka plays World Cafe Live tonight, opening the show for L.A. pop crew 2 a.m. Club. The band’s self-titled EP was released in December of last year, and it deals in big-beat body moving anthems; the stuff of Passion Pit and fun., among others. They’re currently working on their followup release at MilkBoy studio with producer Joe Logic (of Chill Moody fame). In the meantime, check out the music video for their first single “Justice” below and get details on tonight’s show at the XPN Concert Calendar.
Canadian indie rock five-piece Said the Whale headlines the Chameleon Club in Lancaster tonight. Tomorrow, the band releases its latest album, hawaiii – and yes, sticklers, it’s styled with a lowercase “h” and an extra “i”. The record is the fourth full-length for the Juno Award winning crew, and is a rousing collection of catchy glimmer rock – think of them as younger siblings to long-running canucks Stars. The all-ages show begins tonight at 6 p.m., tickets and information can be found here. Below, stream hawaiii.
