French singer-songwriter Woodkid, aka Yoann Lemoine, will play Union Transfer tonight. Although best known for his work as a music video director for the likes of Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Drake, Lemoine is establishing himself as a budding electronic pop / neo-folk musician. Woodkid released its debut album, The Golden Age, earlier this year via Green United Music, and its has points that recall Antony and the Johnsons and Bastille, sometimes simultaneously. Check out his video for “I Love You” below. Get tickets here.
Local up-and-comers Levee Drivers will bring some country charm to the MilkBoy stage tonight. This year, the band won the Tri-State Indie Music Award for “Best Indie/Folk Americana Band”. Stream “Tennessee Girl” from their 2008 self-titled EP below. Tickets for the show are available here.
