Tonight’s Concert Picks: The Lawsuits at Johnny Brenda’s, Chris Forsyth at Ortlieb’s, Rose Windows at MilkBoy and more

Lawsuits fourPhilly’s The Lawsuits will celebrate the release of their debut LP, Cool Cool Cool at Johnny Brenda’s. We’ve been spotlighting the band and the album all week on the Unlocked series; look for the final installment to go up around 11. Also of note are the opening acts: pop-rock power trio The Fleeting Ends and rowdy young Central Pa. rockers The Districts; it’s a solid all-local bill all around. Below, check out the very fun new music video for “Love is Weight” by The Lawsuits, and find tickets and information on tonight’s show at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Sonic trailblazer Chris Forsyth will bring his Solar Motel Band and their exploratory guitar rock to Ortlieb’s Lounge tonight. The band features members of Philly shredders Spaciin’ and psych-poppers The Interest Group, and are a locked-in and unhinged crew of players – which you can hear in their appearance on The Key Studio Sessions this week. Check out “Solar Motel Part Three” below, listen to the entire session here and get tickets and information on the show here.

Seattle prog/psych/folk outfit Rose Windows brings their show to MilkBoy tonight after a warmup performance during XPN’s Free at Noon concert. Their album The Sun Dogs came out on Sub Pop Records in June, when XPN’s Bruce Warren wrote “it’s so out of sync with so much other music being made these days, yet sounds so fresh because it is performed and produced so exquisitely.” Download “Native Dreams” below, get tickets and information on the show here.
