Tonight’s Concert Picks: Metric at Sands Bethlehem, Phil Lesh at Tower Theater, The Paper Kites at Johnny Brenda’s

Canadian pop / alt-rock quartet Metric will be performing at Sands Bethlehem tonight. The band manages to merge smart, socially conscious lyrics and potent vocals with driving beats and heavy guitar hooks. The result is biting and the show promises to be the same. Founding Grateful Dead member Phil Lesh will bring his Phil Lesh and Friends tour to the Tower Theater this evening. Never a disappointment live, Lesh and and his crew – including his son Grahame Lesh and singer-songwriter Anders Osborne on guitar, lead guitarist Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi All Stars, fiddler Jason Crosby (of Robert Randolph and the Family Band, among others) and drummer Tony Leone – will play a slew of Dead songs that will have you groovin’ the whole night long.
