Photo credit: Magdalena Wosinska XPN Artist To WatchJonathan Wilson is playing Underground Arts on Saturday, February 15th. The singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist recently released a new album, Fanfare. Wilson’s new album is receiving well deserved glowing reviews for its meticulously crafted, produced and ambitiously cinematic songs. One hears echoes of classic rock – Traffic, Pink Floyd, CS&N (Crosby, Stills & Nash), and ELO. The songs are long and sweeping and showcase a level of excellence in artistry and craft missing from so much of today’s modern music and features contributions from David Crosby, Graham Nash, Jackson Browne, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench (from Tom Petty and The Hearbreakers,), Father John Misty, Taylor Goldsmith (lead singer/guitarist of Dawes), Wilco’s Patrick Sansone and Roy Harper. Below, listen to a couple of Fanfare‘s stand out songs, “Cecil Taylor,” and the title song. Tickets to the show go on sale Friday, November 22nd here.
