Watch Kings of Leon spin a southern gothic tale in their “Beautiful War” video (playing Wells Fargo Center 2/19)

The tale of Kings of Leon‘s new “Beautiful War” video is told in flashback from the narrator’s (who is in prison) perspective. It’s basically a story of southern fun gone wrong with the central character, his girlfriend, and her brother, one of whom winds up dead. It’s not what you’d expect of the visual for this love song, but the cinematography is flawless. And there’s a mechanical bull, which is also the title of the band’s latest album (Mechanical Bull was released in September).
