World Cafe Live welcomes “A Tribute to Lou Reed” in celebration of the life and music of the late, great Lou Reed. A huge array of bands – from Pete Donnelly to Weekender to Levee Drivers – will perform at the event, and proceeds go to MANNA, a non-profit organization that provides hope and nutrition to Philadelphians battling life-threatening illnesses. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to Philabundance. Find tickets and more information here. Watch Lou Reed perform “Sweet Jane” below.

Local area folk trio Vulcans bring harmony and grassroots instrumentation to Boot & Saddle tonight. Winner of the 2013 Philadelphia Songwriter’s Project, Vulcans infuse heart-melting vocal harmonies with honest lyrical storytelling and pure, stripped down instrumentation. Find tickets and more information on the event here. Watch “Kallipolis” below.

Punk rock misfits Polar Bear Club will be taking over First Unitarian Church tonight. With catchy vocals and post-hardcore angst Polar Bear Club have acquired quite the cult following. The Philly stop wraps up “Death Tourus,” and should be full of energy and emotionally charged. Find tickets and more on the event here. Watch the video for “WLWYCD” below.
