iPhone users just got a bit more lucky. Local electronic musician/composer Mikronesia (aka Michael McDermott of avant-pop duo Gemini Wolf) has released a new iPhone app album calld Edge of Nostalgia.

In addition to playing what McDermott describes as “soothing ambient tones and subtle beats”, the app uses the iPhone’s microphone or headset to mix in sounds from the listener’s environment. It sounds like a pretty cool way to spend 99 cents.

Watch a trailer for the app-album below and download it here. Experience Edge of Nostalgia live tonight when Gemini Wolf plays West Kensington Ministry at Norris Square. Tickets are $5 – $10, more information can be found at the show’s Facebook event page.
