New York indie-rock duo Cibo Matto are back with a new album and new tour that will blaze Philly on February 11th. The band first surfaced in the mid-90s with Viva La Woman which featured humorous songs about food such as “Birthday Cake”, “Beef Jerky”, and “Know Your Chicken”. Their last album, 1999′s Stereo *Type A, marked a progression in sound for the band as they ventured into the realm of ambient sounds, a spark of maturation that was left burning once they disbanded in 2001. Miho Hatori and Yuka C. Honda will pick up where they left off on their new album Hotel Valentine (due February 14th). Watch their new video for “MFN” below. Tickets for their February 11th show at Boot & Saddle are available Friday, December 13th here at noon.
