STS performs tonight at Silk City Diner for Chase Allen’s record release show.  The local hip hop artist has released a number of new tracks this season including the Khari Mateen-produced “Heart On My Sleeve” below.  The singles come in advance of a proper release from STS (short for Sugar Tongue Slim), following up his IllustriousGold Rush, and Gold Rush II records.  Tickets and information for tonight’s 21+ show can be found here.  Listen to “Heart On My Sleeve” below.

Rob, Lately gets the night started at MilkBoy tonight.  The local rockers are still riding high after releasing their new EP The Liar in October on Death to False Hope Records.  The new effort sees the five-piece changing up their sound a bit from 2008′s debut Tiny Heart, exchanging the latter’s power pop emotions for a grungier, full-bodied rock experience.  Tickets and information for the 21+ can be found here.  Watch Rob, Lately perform “Look Aloof” below.

Doylestown’s Heat Thunder open up at Boot & Saddle tonight.  Comprised of members from local music institutions Former Belle, Our Griffins and Commonwealth Choir, the electric folk outfit has steadily built upon their Melody, Love & Soul debut from last year.  Their latest single, “Solo World,” features trembling guitar and sauntering vocals that meet somewhere between gentle shoegaze and barnhouse folk.  Tickets and information for tonight’s 21+ show can be found here.  Listen to “Solo World” below.
