Prolific home-recording artist R. Stevie Moore will perform at Johnny Brenda’s on January 22nd.  The son of studio musician Bob Moore (Elvis, Roy Orbison), RSM began his recording career in high school in the 60s by overdubbing on reel to reel tapes in his basement.  Throughout his forty+ year exploration of music, the Tennessee native has recorded a few hundred individual releases, most of which are available on his Bandcamp for streaming.  Across his discography, Moore has shown an ability to morph through genres from pop to punk to anti-folk.  In the variety and commentary of his music you can hear the bands that he ultimately influenced, a list that includes Ariel Pink, Jeffrey Lewis, Thurston Moore, Daniel Johnston and Ween among others.  Get familiar with R. Stevie Moore by checking out some of his infamous music videos below.  Tickets and information for the 21+ show can be found here.
