Phosphorescent (aka singer-songwriter Matthew Houck) will play Union Transfer tonight. The indie-rock singer-songwriter released his sixth album Muchacho via Dead Oceans last year which, as he told Pitchfork, was inspired by his experiences on tour. Paste Magazine named the record its #1 Album of 2013. Watch the video for “Ride On / Right On” below and get tickets here.

Swear and Shake‘s winter tour brings them to the World Cafe Live stage tonight. The indie-folk outfit released its debut album Maple Ridge back in 2012. If you’re a fan of Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers, you’ll certainly enjoy Swear and Shake. Listen to “Brother” below and get tickets here.

Local punk rock band Smoother will play at PhilaMOCA tonight as part of the Tuesday Tune-Out series. Its latest effort GUYS TILL WE DIE, an 8-track LP filled with loud rock tunes and bare-bottomed cover art, was released last month. Listen to “Hot Topic” below and get more show details here.
