Meet Donna Arendse and James Chatburn – The Septembers – from Australia. The band recently released its soulful, sultry, and stylish debut single, “Riverbed.” Inspired by the legacy of Donna’s great aunt, South African anti-apartheid political activist Dulcie September, the name of the band originates from Donna’s grandmothers’ maiden name, September. Prior to this new project, Donna was in the indie-folk duo Riley and Donna. “Riverbed” is a slow burning, atmospheric and down tempo groove that recalls Little Dragon, Sade and Erykah Badu.

Below, in exchange for your e-mail address, download the very impressive “Riverbed.”
