Folk / roots outfit Spirit Family Reunion bring their energetic performance to Ardmore Music Hall tonight. With gospel, Americana and bluegrass influences coursing through their songs, the New York-based band kicks up the dust with expert fiddling and banjo playing, capped off by rousing foot stomping and hollering. Tickets and information for the show can be found here. Watch them perform “Green Green Rocky Road” below.
Elizabeth & The Catapult will perform upstairs at World Cafe Live tonight. The indie pop musician and her band released their third full-length, Like It Never Happened, earlier this week. The album marks a bit of a change for the band, which usually relied on a strong piano presence but has recently delved into more guitar-driven arrangements. Tickets and information for the all-ages show can be found here.
Local artist Ali Wadsworth performs a free show at Ortlieb’s tonight for the JUMP Magazine winter issue launch party. Though she has appeared on stage with bands like Toy Soldiers, Fantasy Square Garden and Unlikely Cowboy (featuring members of Good Old War) in the past, the vocal powerhouse stepped out on her own this year with an impressive self-titled debut record. Information for the free 21+ show can be found here.
